Creative Works Database
Listing of creative works related to Singapore.
Our new Creative Works database is a repository for literary and dramatic works related to Singapore which are written by FASS Faculty and Students, past and present. The contents of this work-in-progress call on the theories and techniques taught and researched at FASS. Some of the creative works have links to a sample of the original text. Research is also ongoing and the database will grow as we continue to update it. Works with the symbol “i” indicate that an abstract of the work is available.
To search more effectively, please use the MLA or APA citation style which uses the author’s last name and initials.
1.Gitanjali [I feel the earth move]i<x Will you fight for freedom knowing the inevitable loss ahead? A mother pins her hopes upon her son, unknowingly hindering his own dreams. A teacher struggles to accept her protégé whose ambitions steers her away from tradition. A writer drawn to his muse faces the reality of their unresolved chapter. These relationships collide in The Necessary Stage's Gitanjali [I feel the earth move], a brand new interdisciplinary and intercultural production inspired by the poetry of Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore. Directed by Alvin Tan and written by Haresh Sharma, this groundbreaking production features movement by French-Laotian choreographer-dancer Olé Khamchanla, Jereh Leong, Raka Maitra, a renowed Odissi classical/contemporary dancer, and Hindustani vocalist Namita Mehta.Languages : EnglishDepartments : English Language and LiteratureCategories : Dance, Theatre Event
